이 심포지움은 최근 전 세계적으로 21세기의 핵심기술로 각광받고 있는 생명공학 기술 산업과 관련하여 '연구에서 제품화까지(From bench to the market)'라는 주제로 열린다.
생물유래 의약품 개발의 최근 연구동향 및 상품화와 허가를 위한 평가기술 및 관리 등 전반에 걸쳐 국내의 산·학·연·관의 전문가가 모여 국내 현황 및 국제적인 추세 등에 관한 심도 있는 논의를 나누는 장이 될 것이다.
심포지움은 크게 두 부분으로 나뉘어 진행될 예정으로 제 1부에서는 생명공학제품의 개발(Development of Biotechnology Products)에 관한 발표가 있으며, 제 2부에서는 생명공학제품의 평가(Evaluation of Biotechnology Products)에 관하여 관련 전문가(해외 6인, 국내 3인)들의 발표가 있을 예정이다.
