Galderma Korea announced that the company had elected Kim Youn-Hee, a managing director of the Medical Solution Division, as its new chief executive officer starting on Oct 1st.
Kim graduated from Korea University and is a marketing expert with 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical and skincare fields such as MSD Korea, MSD & Asia Pacific, Merz Korea, and L’Oréal Korea.
She was a marketing head of Merz Korea’s aesthetic division and a marketing director of L’Oréal Korea’s active cosmetics division. Kim has been recognized for her competence leadership in the skin and beauty area and served as the managing director of Galderma Korea’s medical solution division since 2019.
Kim is also active in Women in Innovation (WIN), which raises female leaders.
Galderma Korea has separated from Nestlé and became an independent firm. Kim has contributed Galderma Korea to become the world’s largest skin company by launching the acne treatment Epiduoforte, adding hyaluronic acid filler Sculptra, and running the Global Esthetic Network Symposium ‘Gain’.
Rene Wipperich, who has led Galderma Korea for the past two years, has been named the Swiss branch’s head. He joined Nestlé in 1999, and as a representative director of Korea branch after managing Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, he made a success as “One Galderma” with the expansion of specialized drugs portfolio and double-digit growth based on profitability in the highly competitive Korean market.
“Galderma Korea has achieved sustainable and profitable growth through active digital marketing and esthetic medical education,” New CEO Kim said. “We will do our best to solidify its position in Korea by expanding contacts with customers and consumers based on innovative skin and dermatology products.”
