Halted to flu vaccines.. a thorough investigation will be conducted
Park Neung-Hoo (Ministry of Health and Welfare) apologized for the influenza vaccine’s exposure to room temperature during the distribution process.
Park said, “There have been errors made during the distribution of vaccines, and I apologize for things that went wrong.”
“We temporarily halted the government’s free influenza inoculation scheme, and we are now investigating for the quality verification,” and said, “We will arrange things quickly to resume vaccination with no disruption on COVID-19 and influenza.”
South Korea government has suspended its free seasonal flu vaccine program, which began on the 22nd, after finding problems with the distribution of the private company.
These vaccines were targeted for the age group of 13-18. The government immediately stopped supplying the influenza vaccine from the company, and the supply will resume on the vaccines that have already been provided if the quality is verified safely.
