Dukaro (Boryung Pharmaceutical) posted the best performance among new drugs that entered the outpatient prescription market last year.
According to UBIST, unlike previous years, no more royal roaders reached KRW 10 billion blockbusters in the first year of its launch last year.
Among them, Dukaro made KRW 6.4 billion in prescription performance in a year in 2020 and became the only new drug to surpass KRW 5 billion.
In particular, Dukaro’ seems to become a blockbuster this year because its monthly prescription in December is expected to rise to the late KRW 900 million units and enter KRW 1 billion units.
Along with Dukaro, 12 newly registered products recorded more than KRW 1 billion prescription, but except for Dukaro, all of them posted less than KRW 3 billion prescription.
Followed by Dukaro, Mirabek (Hanmi Pharmaceutical Co.) exceeded KRW 2 billion with KRW 2.8 billion and Verzenio (Lily Korea) with KRW 2.5 billion.
The monthly prescription has risen to KRW 600 million for Mirabek and KRW 500 million for Verzenio, but it is still too early to be sure of entering KRW 10 billion units per year.
Codaewon S (Daewon Pharmaceutical), released in October, achieved a prescription of KRW 1.7 billion in three months with seasonal demand.
Unicholin (Union Korea Pharm.) reached KRW 1.5 billion, while Famotidine (Hwail Pharmaceutical) and Omacormini (Kuhnil Pharmaceutical) recorded KRW 1.3 billion prescription.
Lastly, Momenta (TheU Pharmaceutical) and Donegreen (Cires Pharmaceutical) exceeded KRW 1.2 billion units, Akarb (Boryung Pharmaceutical Co.) KRW 1.1 billion units, while Neo Cande (Green Cross Corp.) and Pleming (Lite pharm tech) surpassed KRW 1 billion units.
