Majority shareholder’s stake is reduced for surged pharmaceutical stocks in Q3

While pharmaceutical stocks fluctuated greatly after heating up in July and August and cooling down in September, the percentage of ownership decreased for a majority shareholder. 

Based on Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System, Newsmp found out that the percentage of ownership for the 9 majority shareholders dropped among 12 pharmaceutical corporations.

▲ While pharmaceutical stocks fluctuated greatly after heating up in July and August and cooling down in September, the percentage of ownership decreased for a majority shareholder. 

During this period, Aprogen Pharmaceuticals declined the most, which fell 0.97%p from 46.02% to 45.05%.

Green Cross decreased by 0.59%p from 52.82% to 52.23%, Korea United Pharm 0.25%p from 37.21% to 36.96%, and Wooridul Pharmaceutical 0.20%p from 6.83% to 6.63%.

In addition, Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical fell 0.08%p, Il-Yang Pharmaceutical 0.03%p, Ilsung Pharmaceutical 0.02%p, and DongKook Pharmaceutical and Dong What Pharm 0.01%p. 

Meanwhile, CKD Bio’s percentage of ownership for majority shareholders jumped 1.86%9 from 37.30% to 39.16%. CKD Bio was the only pharmaceutical corporation whose ownership of the majority shareholder changed more than 1 percent in Q3. 

Followed by CKD Bio, the percentage of Samil Pharmaceutical ownership rose 0.35%p from 38.50% to 38.85%, and Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical 0.01%p from 37.73% to 37.74%.

The stakes of Il Dong Pharmaceutical and Hana Pharm changed slightly, but there was no significant impact on their percentage of ownership.
