[Newsmp] While half of the pharmaceutical firms whose closing accounts are in November and December disclosed their 2022 performance, more than two-thirds reported double-digit sales growth.
According to 35 pharmaceutical companies that announced their earnings (preliminary) by the 13th, 24 companies’ sales rose by more than 10% from 2021.
Nine companies saw sales increase by more than 20%, and the combined sales of 34 companies increased by 13.4% from 2021, recording double digits.
Ilsung Pharmaceutical had the highest growth rate of 45.5%, followed by Daewon Pharmaceutical over 35%, and Samil Pharmaceutical above 30%
SinSin Pharmaceutical, Seoul Pharma, Hwail Pharmaceutical, Jin Yang Pharmaceutical, Boryung Pharmaceutical and Yuyu Pharma saw their sales increase by more than 20%.
Moreover, Korea Arlico Pharm, CMG Pharmaceutical, Hyundai Pharmaceutical, Dongwha Pharm, Kyongbo Pharmaceutical, Il Dong Pharmaceutical, JW Pharmaceutical, Withus Pharmaceutical, Whanin Pharmaceutical, Youngjin Pharmaceutical, JW Life Science, Shin Poong Pharmaceutical, Dongsung Pharmaceutical, HK inno.N and Hanmi Pharmaceutical achieved double-digit sales growth.
On the other hand, only three companies whose losses widened, all of which exceeded KRW 10 billion, and two out of 22 companies that recorded a surplus turned into deficit.
Of the 20 companies that continued to be in the black, 15 companies' surplus widened, while 5 companies decreased.
There was a big difference in operating profit by company, but the combined operating profit increased by 47.5% from KRW 340 billion in 2021 to KRW 501.8 billion in 2022.
