[Newsmp] Unlike the KOSPI pharmaceuticals index outperformed the KOSPI index last year, the KOSDAQ pharmaceuticals index performed slightly worse than the KOSDAQ index.
KOSDAQ index fell 34.30% last year, and the KOSDAQ pharmaceuticals index declined 38.86%, a bit larger drop, according to the Korea Exchange.
Among the total 1,499 stocks in the KOSDAQ market, only two components included in the pharmaceutical index were included in the top 100 in annual share price growth.
On the other hand, the share prices of 21 stocks plunged more than 50%, and the fall of three stocks exceeded 80% among the 108 KOSDAQ pharmaceuticals components (based on stocks whose share prices can be compared from the beginning of the year to the end of the year).
Despite the sluggish pharmaceutical index, Caregen rose 106.17% from the beginning of the year, ranking 15th among 1499 stocks in the KOSDAQ market.
Humedix was also listed in the top 100 at 84th with double-digit growth of 15.66%.
The nine stocks, Daihan Pharmaceutical with 6.62%, Hwail Pharm with 6.11%, ABL Bio with 4.07%, Sam Chun Dang Pharm with 1.04%, Dae Hwa Pharm with 0.86% and BioPlus with 0.84%, showed a slight increase in share price entered the top 200.
Daebong LS, JW Shinyak, Medy-Tox, Optus Pharmaceutical, Jin Yang Pharmaceutical and Kolmar BNH defended their fall to single digits and ranked in the top 300.
However, BNC Korea saw its share price plunge 82.55% over the past year, the largest drop among the KOSDAQ pharmaceutical index, or the fourth-lowest in the KOSDAQ market.
Enzychem Lifesciences and ICure Pharm recorded a drop of more than 80% at 81.92% and 81.40%, becoming the top 10 biggest losers.
EuBiologics’ share price also fell more than 70%, while Prestige Biologics, Celemics, ViGenCell, Cheil Bio, Intron Biotechnology, Pharmabcine and Gencurix declined more than 60%.
Moreover, Corestem, PLC, Korea Pharmacy, Seegene, T&R Biofab, Anygen, Eutilex, Huons Global, Bio Solution and Oscotec dived more than 60%.
